About Us:
Aaculaax is a small, ecologically minded boutique hotel that offers all the services one would expect from an exclusive hotel.

We boast a staff fluent in English, Spanish and German, a full-service restaurant and offer numerous activities for the active traveler. San Marcos is particularly interesting for the spiritually minded, it offers numerous healing therapies and courses, as well as yoga and massage.

Hotel Aaculaax is an amazing vantage point to explore the Mayan world while enjoying a relaxing and romantic getaway.

The hotel has 6 unique rooms and suites, each individually designed, with one-of-a-kind works of art and locally made furniture. All rooms have private terraces or balconies with spectacular views of the lake and volcanoes. Here you'll enjoy a harmonious balance of creature comforts in an all-encompassing natural setting.

Of Special Note:
From the beginning, our primary concerns were to create sustainable alternatives and to develop ecological awareness. We deliberately used local materials that are affordable to all Guatemalans. The intent was to build "chemical-free", earthquake-proof, beautiful buildings, which we adapted to fit the resources of the environment and the skills of the people. We have integrated the construction into the landscape to preserve the lush and tropical surroundings.

How to find us:

From Panajachel:

Take a "lancha" (shark boat) from the Tzanjuyu dock (also called the San Pedro dock) in Panajachel to San Marcos La Laguna. Once in San Marcos you will get off the boat in front of Posada Schuman. Take a left along the beach past Posada Schuman, El Tul y El Sol and Beatrice's massage clinic. Soon you will see us built into the hill-side ahead of you.

From Quetzaltenango, Antigua and Guatemala City:

Take the Pan-American Highway to Km 149. Take that road through Santa Clara. As you leave Santa Clara take the road to your right to San Pablo La Laguna. From San Pablo turn left to San Marcos La Laguna. In town you can park your car at "Parqueo El Centro". From there you walk towards the lake past Hotel Quetzal and Hotel Unicornio. Once at the end of the path, on the lake shore, turn right and you will see Hotel Aaculaax on the hill ahead of you.

Reservation Policy:

This reservation service is free, as the non-refundable 10% deposit is credited against the total value of your reservation. It is required in order to block your space and confirm your reservation with the balance of 90% due upon your arrival with us.

Hotel Aaculaax requires full payment at least one week prior to your arrival. Instructions for payment will follow payment of the confirmation fee.

Our cancellation policy is as follows: cancellation one week or more before your arrival at the hotel refund of all but first night's payment; cancellation less than one week prior to your arrival at the hotel -- no refund.

Cancellation Policy:
After reservation, you are free to cancel for any reason and without penalty up to three days prior to schedule arrival. Any later cancellation or a no-show will cause a billing of one night's lodging per the terms of your confirmed reservation unless otherwise stated in your reservation confirmation.
